I am a first year student in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. I am a hard-working individual with an interest in space exploration. I am also excited to explore other areas of engineering! I was motivated to study engineering because I felt that it would provide many challenges in my career.
I have exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills. I highly enjoy working in a collaborative environment where I can share my ideas freely as well as be inspired by the ideas of my peers. Last year, I worked on an aerial imaging project with a team in which the goal was to capture a photograph with a camera that was dropped from the second floor ceiling. This experience was influential because it was the first challenge that I was given in which there were no specific instructions; it was up to my me and my team to figure it all out. From the starting designs to the final drop, it was up to us to do everything including the building of the apparatus and coding the picture-taking sequences.
One of the main things I care deeply about is inspiring young girls to pursue careers in the STEM field. When I am not studying I love to volunteer with GirlStart STEM Center, which is an organization dedicated to empowering and inspiring girls within the STEM field. I am also pursuing a teaching certificate through my college, which will aid me in my mission of outreach. I am especially passionate about the arts, and therefore I try to incorporate a creative aspect into all of my projects.
Some of my technical skills include knowledge in Autodesk Maya and Autodesk Mudbox. In the past, I have worked in both of these programs extensively. I am currently looking for an internship position for the summer of 2018. If you want to contact me, please email me at: [email protected]
I look forward to connecting with you!
